Since July 22, we've been outside the offices of OpenAI in San Francisco, asking Sam Altman to call for an AI Treaty. And since Aug 18, we've started occupying OpenAI in NYC too.
At first, we started occupying Anthropic and Google DeepMind on two continents, asking their CEOs to take the first step and urge for an AI Treaty. But after the recent news of an OpenAI model committing multiple felonies, we moved on to Occupy OpenAI.
And then, over 1,000 employees of OpenAI, Anthropic, and Google DeepMind, including OpenAI's Chief Scientist, urged the US government to support international tools to pace frontier AI development. But unless governments actually enforce a slowdown, there is no guarantee these companies will stop.
So we'll continue to Occupy OpenAI every day, on both coasts, until Sam Altman calls for an AI Treaty: outside their San Francisco office at 550 Terry A Francois Blvd, and starting Aug 18, outside their New York office at 295 Lafayette St.
Come anytime — 9am–6pm in SF, 8:30am–6:30pm in NYC. Join the Occupy AI movement.
